DAY 7

Overtaking, Bridges, Flyby and headshots

After an excellent night in the superb accommodation where we received from the owners a huge donation to our cause. Nevertheless we all awoke tired and aching, nothing at all to do with the digs we’re all suffering from six days in the Cub’s saddle.

Off we headed Anglesey way pausing for a Kodak moment at the iconic Menai bridge once the worlds biggest suspension bridge.

Superb roads and sunshine abounded.

Around the island we rode stopping at the village of Cemaes Wales most northern village. Onwards to RAF valley to appease Monkey’s aeronautical lust, thankfully no Harriers or Spitfires were on display. At Alnwick Dee was accosted by a Jehovah’s Witnesses so he gave him a Three Old Men and 50 Cubs flyer receiving the Watchtower in return, one up for the team. On Anglesey we reached the mileage total on this leg so far of 1000 miles, more to go as this will be the longest leg.

Off Anglesey and on towards Liverpool, along the northern welsh coast the trio were limited to major A roads as the minor horse poo covered C roads are very thin on the ground.

Bowie and Dee were highly entertained although Monkey remained unimpressed when a seagull dive bombed Monkey and scored a direct kill shot with poo on his crash helmet visor.

However another iconic Cubs moment was achieved on the outskirts of Flint, spying a 750 Kawasaki motorcycle the three flew past him on either side as if he was stationary. To be fair he was stationary at a traffic light stop line and was slow to notice them change to green, however a pass is a pass.

Approaching our overnight halt we encountered what could possibly be our last unplanned Average White Band moment when Monkeynav overshot the area of our hotel.

Todays mileage 182 covered and the boys are looking forward to tomorrows rest day where save for riding the cubs to and from the ferry there will be no other movement on them.
